Through its robust insulation layer, it effectively prevents phase-to-phase short circuits and electric shock hazards, making it suitable for urban and rural distribution network overhead lines where high power supply reliability is required.

Mainly used for overhead main lines and branch lines in urban and rural 10kV distribution networks.
Typical application scenarios include: medium-voltage overhead lines in urban grid renovation projects and areas where underground installation is difficult; main distribution networks in suburban and rural areas; power supply lines within industrial and mining zones; and outdoor overhead installations in challenging environments such as forests, rainy regions, and polluted areas.
Production
Conductor: Made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, tightly compressed and stranded. The cross-section is typically large to reduce resistance and corona loss, with mechanical strength meeting overhead tension requirements.
Insulation: A core process. Ultraclean XLPE material is extruded and cross-linked in one step using a triple-layer co-extrusion process (conductor screen + insulation + insulation screen), forming a uniform, dense, and defect-free insulation layer. This is key to ensuring its resistance to high electric field strength.
Metallic Screen: A metallic screen layer (e.g., copper tape, aluminum alloy tape) is tightly wrapped or stranded over the insulation screen to evenly distribute the electric field, conduct fault currents, and provide necessary mechanical protection for the cable.
Outer Sheath (if applicable): Depending on design requirements, a layer of weather-resistant black high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheath may be extruded over the metallic screen to provide additional UV protection, corrosion resistance, and mechanical protection.
Key Process Control: Production must take place in a highly clean environment with strict control over XLPE material purity; precise control of the triple-layer co-extrusion process and cross-linking (typically using CCV catenary lines) to ensure the insulation layer is free of impurities and micro-voids; 100% partial discharge testing and power frequency withstand voltage testing; sampling for hot elongation tests to verify the cross-linking degree.

High Ampacity and Low Loss: XLPE insulation allows for higher operating temperatures, providing better current-carrying capacity than PVC insulation for the same cross-section; compacted conductors reduce skin effect, lowering line losses.
Cost-Effective Construction and Maintenance: Lower cost and shorter construction cycles compared to underground cable installation; reduced maintenance workload compared to bare conductor lines, offering advantages in lifecycle costs.
